Door glass, quarter panes, vent windows, rear glass with defroster lines and sunroof panels, all replaced from our Garrison Avenue shop or at your address in Mott Haven. We identify the part off the VIN, most common pieces are same-day, and the quote is flat.

Not every broken pane is a windshield, and the rest of the glass on a car is where people get quoted strangely. A small triangular quarter light can cost more than a full door window because far fewer of them are made, and a rear window on a hatchback is a much bigger piece of glass than most people picture. We tell you which of those you are dealing with before anything gets ordered, and if the piece has to come from outside the region you get a day rather than a maybe.
Rear glass is the one that needs care. The defroster grid is printed into the pane and its tabs have to be soldered back and tested, and on many cars the radio antenna runs through there as well. We check both work before the car leaves. Then there is the cleanup, which on any tempered pane is most of the job: door cavity, seat rails, carpet, boot floor. Twenty extra minutes with the vacuum beats you sweeping cubes out of the car in March. Insurance gets billed direct when using it makes sense, and we say plainly when it does not.
“We went here today, a cold Sunday afternoon, after the right rear window was broken into. They were well-priced, the staff was friendly, and they worked fast! My new go-to spot for this type of emergency!”

In a neighbourhood where nearly every car sleeps on the street, the pane that goes is rarely the one you would predict. It is the small rear quarter window, because it is the cheapest thing to break and the easiest to reach through, and it is the piece people assume will be a nightmare to source. Usually it is not. What it is, is fiddly, since the trim around it is glued about as often as it is clipped and the surrounding plastics on an older car have gone hard. We flag that risk before we start rather than presenting it as an extra once the panel is off. If a clip does break, we tell you and we put a new one in.
Same service, same price, other Bronx neighborhoods:
Yes, when the job is done right. The replacement pane comes with its own printed grid, and we reconnect the electrical tabs and power it up to check the lines warm before you drive off. If your old defroster already had a dead line, the new glass generally fixes that as a side effect, since the grid is part of the pane rather than something transferred over.
Sometimes, and it surprises people. Door glass for a common sedan is made in enormous numbers, so it is cheap and easy to get. A model-specific quarter light or vent pane is made in far smaller quantities, which pushes both the price and the lead time up. We check the actual part before quoting rather than assuming the small piece must be the cheap one.
