Urethane wants to sit evenly in the bead while it sets, and a car pitched at a serious angle does not give it that, so for windshields and bonded rear glass we may ask you to move to a flatter stretch a block away. Chips and door windows are far more forgiving and can be done on almost any grade. The other practical point is the parking itself, which is tight and often at an angle on these streets, so we need a few feet at the front of the car for a windshield rather than a bumper-to-bumper space. A quick description when you book saves the tech from arriving to a job that cannot be done.

There is no exact figure, and the tech will make the call on site if it is borderline. Broadly, an ordinary residential grade is fine for anything, a noticeably pitched block is fine for chips and side glass, and a properly steep one is not somewhere we want to bond a windshield.
